HUEJUTLA DE REYES

Convento y Catedral de San Agustín (The San Agustin Convent and Cathedral)

These important structures are a major part of the Huasteca Hidalgo skyline.

Templo y ex Convento del Sagrario (Sagrario Temple and Old Convent)

The temple and convent were constructed by the Augustines in 1570. They are a good example of the plateresque style of architecture.

Reloj Municipal (Municipal Clock)

This tower is made of four pieces of volcanic rock and dates back to 1908. The bells ring at 9:00 a.m. and sometimes play songs.

METZTITLÁN

Monasterio de los Santos Reyes (Santos Reyes Monastery)

This Augustine monastery was constructed during the 16th century.

La Tercena

This is the best example of architecture from the 16th century. It was an important meeting place for the indigenous people of the region.

Laguna de Metztitlán (Metztitlán Lake)

This natural attraction can be found away from civilization and all of the hustle and bustle that accompanies it. You can spend your time relaxing and try your luck with the fish.

La Vega de Meztitlán (Reserva de la Biosfera) (Biosphere Reserve)

This beautiful natural zone is surrounded by mountains and extensive areas filled with diverse flora and fauna.

Laguna de San Cristóbal (San Cristóbal Lake)

This lake was formed naturally by the waters of a river that at that time flowed here and had nowhere to go.

ZACUALTIPÁN

Capilla de Jesús el Nazareno (The Jesus of Nazareth Chapel)

This chapel was built in 1572. The main façade was done in the popular and elegant plateresque style, decorated with fruits and vegetables.

La Casita de Piedra (The Little Stone House)

Constructed in a large 10 x 5 meter rock, Brother Bernardo used this space to build in the 16th century.

MOLANGO

El ex Convento y Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Loreto (Our Lady of Loreto Parish and Old Convent)

The extraordinary monument dates back to 1546.

Laguna de Atezca (Aztec Lake)

The lake is located 6 kilometers north of Molango. It is surrounded by spectacular views and a waterfall with an island in the middle.

ATLAPEXCO

Palacio Municipal (Municipal Palace)

This building is characterized by its windows, masonry and a bas-relief with tall, white stone columns and a wood door.

Río Atlapexco (Atlapexco River)

This river is commonly used for swimming, fishing or riding the rapids.
